I agree the issue could very well be the roamining profiles, this will have to go seeing you want to give them local accounts. My question is why are they roaming profiles?? If they truely roam from machine to machine, this will be alot of work to reset all users up local if that is what is called for.

Could it be that this person is dissatisfied with the current configuration due to performance issues? I highly recommend anyone that is contemplating doing ‘roaming profiles’ read Dan Holme’s Windows’ Administration Productivity Solutions for IT Professionals.

It is not clear from your text if you have roaming profiles or just folder redirection. These are two distinct and often confused concepts.

Off-line files is mainly used for notebook computers so when an individual leave the office, they will have their data with them. Changes made on the road are synchronized when they return. This should not be confused with folder redirection.

Folder redirection can be used to place, for example, the My Documents, which was originally on their local hard drive, on a server for central management and backup.

If you can further detail your exact situation, it would help to determine a better recommendation.
