Is there a future for Virtual PC? This question is from the Microsoft Virtualization Chat on ITKnowledgeExchange.com

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I guess/hope that this is true because it would be bad if only VMWare releases “light” versions for the virtualization market.
I see a great thing the possibility to simply create/release ready-to-go machines with preinstalled software for demo/teaching purposes and so on so VPC is one strong actor and starting point in this.

I agree with Alessandro. I asked this question in the chat, and the answer was just: ‘We are looking into the future of Virtual Pc’, so I hope we can get some more details here.

Yes, it has great possibilities in the business environment where people do not need personal space for saving documents. Case in point would be nurse stations who need to run programs which store their information in their own databases but they log in generically to the machine and do not need to save any personal documents. Virtual PC would allow us to create multiple machines with the minimum requirements for this purpose.
