 Is our “technology” SAP compatible?
Good day, everyone. No, I don't know exactly what that question means either, which is why I'm asking for help! We are a recruiting/staffing firm, bidding on a contract with a company which uses SAP. They want to know if "Our technology is SAP Compatible". Sigh. We are using a staffing industry standard software, with a Microsoft SQL Server database. At this time, we cannot accept orders or such directly through a web interface from clients, but the possibility exists to do that. So, can anyone tell me a way to answer that question? All help is greatly appreciated. I can be contacted directly at the remote office phone number below, by private message, etc. Sincerely, Jon Williamson IT Manager, Webmaster, SAP/Oracle/PeopleSoft Recruiting Williamson Employment Services, Inc. 213 Hilltop Rd. Answer Wiki:
Meaning is probably your solution is able to exchange with SAP without additional ABAP development on SAP side. Usually, your solution has to be able to generate IDOC (Intermediate DOCument). To simplify, IDOCs are pre-defined interface files that SAP is able to proceed without additonal development. A good exemple will be an EDI message. If the EDI program is able to translate (to parse) the EDI format into the IDOC format, SAP could "read" the EDI message without needing programming. I am assuming your field of work is related to HR : look to SAP HR IDOC and see what your solution could provide here. I am afraid it will be the end of help. I am working in supply chain and have no idea of SAP HR module.
