Q:
Is it possible to have two Client Access Server roles in one forest?
I have installed Exchange Server 2007 in my enterprise. The front-end server has the Client Access Server (CAS) role installed and the back-end server has the Hub Transport and Mailbox roles installed. Is it possible to install a CAS role on the back-end server -- i.e., to have two CAS roles in one forest? I have an application that connects with IMAP protocol in my internal network and it doesn’t work with my front-end server.

You can have more than one CAS, we have two in our environment, but that may not be what you need to configure.

What is the application and for what purpose is it connecting? It may be the Hub Transport you need to configure, not the CAS.
