Is it possible to get remote access between two computers at different places over VPN network
If there are two systems running on VPN over broadband (broad band connection with only VPN facility over phone line provided with user name and password), is it possible to access the system at a different place knowing its login user name and password, where both systems are running on windows xp and same VPN over broad band connection. In that connection the systems will not be able to connect to internet and they will be able to access only [strong]intranet[/strong].

Software/Hardware used:

Answer Wiki:
It depends on the network permissions granted to your vpn user. If both machines exists in the same network after login to the vpn, it is possible to has access from one machine to the other. Is this what you are asking for ?

Are you asking how to setup a VPN connection? Because what you are currently asking is pretty much what a VPN does- connect remote with local. As for the “intranet” Mariodlg is correct when he says that it depends on what permissions you give the user or the computer the user is connecting to. If you want dirrections on how to setup a VPN, please provide what VPN client you are using.

From your description, its hard to tell if 1) youre connecting from a PC using the PPTP VPN through windows to a remote VPN concentrator/router or 2) if you have 2 sites using a router-to-router configuration for VPN access…

And like Ramsey mentioned, pls let us know what type of VPN you’re trying to set up, what equipment you have and what client software (if any) you’re using…
