Actually, I haven&#039;t run across anything that only has IPv6 without also allowing IPv4. But my experience is narrow for this area.

IPv6 interfaces that I&#039;ve directly worked with have handled &lt;a href=&quot;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPv6#IPv4-mapped_IPv6_addresses&quot;&gt;IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses&lt;/a&gt;, so I haven&#039;t had to dig into it deeply yet.

The rest of the above Wiki link has lots of useful background information that might be helpful.
