As indicated, you need to install a product to get this done unless you want to do some very serious research before some serious programming. The InfoPrint Server product has components that are engineered to get this done.

If you must use IPDS for some bizarre reason, then you must use facilities that understand IPDS. You might rethink reasons for insisting on IPDS.

just a comment. We transfer IPDS to a PC all of the time and it works great. So, if anyone says it is impossible, they are gravely mistaken.

Previous replys are correct. Use the InfoPrint Server; I think the easiest thing to do is to have the InfoPrint server email the PDF to you.

Or, you can do whatever you want through a simple exit program.

Again, see the redbook and see the InfoPrint Server manual. If you do not have InfoPrint server installed, see your install media and install it. You get about 70 days before you have to buy it. It is not expensive.

Sorry I haven’t responded sooner. Thanks for your help. Unfortunately I haven’t had time to try this out yet. I am working with someone who is absolutely convinced that it is impossible to get *IPDS spool files off the 400 and to a Windows environment and still keep the graphics and layout of the report. Again, thanks for your help and hopefully I will get to try your solution soon.

I am trying to do the same thing, print reports as PDF Files to an IFS directory. I have an outq set up, but it puts the PDF in additional subfolders of jobname and user name. This makes it near impossible to retreive.

What commands are you listing? CRTOUTQ? I do not have the same parameters that you listed, such as advanced function printing and port number. When I WRKOUTQ to my existing pdf outq, I do not have the parameters you have listed.

In the second command, WRKPSFCFG, I do not have a pdf file location parameter.

I have the Redbook Printing 6, but I don’t have much luck with it. I’ll read it again and see if I can recognize anything.
