Depends on your subnet range on your local network. I guess you could have only one client in the subnet and then all of the other IP addresses taken by the server. What are you trying to do on the server?

You can have dozens of IPs assigned to each NIC in a server. I have servers that have at least a dozen IPs assigned the the NIC.

I believe the limit on 2003 standard was 256 per interface, not sure on R2 if that changed. We tested this in a class I taught several years ago and got to 256 if memory serves
