Howdy folks,i just wanna know that,how do i know if i'm using dynamic IP address or static IP address

There is a service DynDNS.com that will “follow” a dynamic DNS internet connection. You will need a service like this if you want to connect to your home computer from the Internet. Many routers, such as NetGear, and Linksys have support for this kind of service built in. You could also use this service to set up a webserver in your house, however, many ISP’s kind of frown on that due to the potential high bandwidth use. Check with your ISP’s TOS before setting up your website on your home system.

Also, you can always click the properties of the internet connection and see what the setting is on.

You can manually configure it for business or personal use that way.

Static IP address  is for one customer having  one IP address that is
permanently assigned and Dynamic IP address  is for one customer having 
different IP address (temporarily assigned) each time it changes if the
ISP customer logs on to their computer.Here i mentioned a method how to
check your ip address is dynamic or static. You can turn off your modem
or reset it then switch on your modem ,if the ip address will not
change, then it is a static ip address or otherwise if it changes hence
it is a dynamic ip address.To check the ip address visit the site Ip-details.com

I’m not sure about [ ip-details.com ]. It not only got my IP address wrong, but it also missed my geographic location by perhaps 1500 miles, putting me down in Louisiana even though I’m on the West side of Puget Sound up in Washington. — Tom
