Hi,
An I/O device error can be caused by several different things, for example when trying to display a subfile when the SFLDSP, SFLDSPCTL indicators are incorrect or when writing to a printer file and causing an overflow error.
If you get an I/O device error, you should check the messages in your joblog, there should be a message which explains what caused the error.
