 Inter-forest migration without trust relationship
We have a requirement to migrate users, groups, computers, mailboxes & file servers from one AD forest to another AD forest following a company aquisition. However trust relationship cannot be created. Is it possible to perform a migration without trust. If yes, what tools can be used

Answer Wiki:
Yes you can but you need to use a tool that resides on the windows 2000 resource cd. It is called Addusers.exe. It can be used to import and export users from one domain or a workgroup into another. I used it here in a instance to do a work group to domain migration you should be able to get the jist of it from there. If you need more specific information let me know and I will post a step by step. But for that i will need a little more information about your existing infrastructure.

This does not make business sense. So a trust cannot be created but there will be data sharing in terms of Exchange. I think the battle for establishing the required trusts to perform this migration in a more seamless manner is the way to go but if this is not an option for whatever reason, you can export the data from the source organization using EXMERGE or similar utility and import it into the target organization. You will have to create the users using AddUsers, DSAdd User or export and import using LDIFDE or CSVDE, mailbox-enable and import data into their mailboxes.
