Your best bet is to use
Documentum Reporting Services. While this includes a lot of functionality that you might not need, it includes some important changes (deployed through a docApp or .dar) that allow for complete reporting. Combined with
JDBC Services, this will allow any reporting tool to connect to your docBase(s) in a manner consistent with other databases.
I use this toolset with Crystal Reports server for reporting and it works flawlessly - without making use of the embedded Crystal Reports runtime that comes with DRS.
