Integration of External and Internal email servers
Dear Sir/Madam, I appreciate if you respond to my question. I have an email server hosted externally now i use SMTP,PoP3 to send and recieve email but i would like to keep the extrenal one and setup an Exchange server 2007 in my local network to use the same domain name sending and recieving email, the aim of this setup is to provide a centralize email storage for daily backup purpose. It wuold be nice if "external and Internal ones" provide redandunce if external fails then i internal should work and vice versa. Best regards, Hafiz

Answer Wiki:
cool , r u using exchange serve 2007 if yes then no need to have failure for internal and external . because in exchange server 2007 environment you have two roles HUB Transport , edge Transport if you have both servers installed hub transport will be responsible for inside email . and edge transport will be responsible for out side email . if you still cant understand please come up with a more clear question . tell me the what server you are running? . thanks
