My company would like to integrate our software with CRM software, by importing and exporting customer records. Do the major CRM vendors support a standard way to do this, perhaps via XML or a web service, or does each vendor have a different way of doing this?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

All major (and not-so-major, for that matter) CRM applications support this type of functionality in one way or another – the differences are just a question of ease and flexibility.

Yes, they do. Be wary of third party integration software recommendations, if you are watching the $$$$$$$. The devil is in the detail: field mapping and getting the interfaces to work.
