Installing Sharepoint 3.0 with exchange 2003
Hi, Has anybody installed MS Sharepoint services 3.0 on the same server 2003 that runs exchange? I tried and then I screwed up my OWA and the SMTP setup. I was able to recover but I am not willing to try again until I have a step by step process that I can follow. According to technet, it should work but I could not find a solid tutorial on what to do to prevent WSS from intercepting my OWA traffic. Thanks,

Answer Wiki:
When you install Sharepoint, it sets up the default web site with the sharepoint site...which is probably overwriting your Exchange folders in IIS. Try either setting a different port for the Sharepoint site, then setup host headers in IIS so that when users specify a different address in the http:// address, they will go to the correct site...then change the port back to port 80 in IIS for the Sharepoint site...finally, setup DNS A records (internal on your DC, and external with the ISP that is hosting your DNS) for the name/header you setup in IIS for both the Sharepoint website and the Exchange website. So, OWA users will use the address http://exchange.company.com/exchange And Sharepoint users will use the address http://sharepoint.company.com
