Installing programs from i5/OS media disk
that Media Labels & Content indicates is on disk 2 of the i5/OS media, and
I want to use an image catalog to do it.
Can I just load that disk image, and add it to the catalog, or do I have
to load disk 1 and 2, or all disks in the series?  I tried just disk 2 and it would not
verify.

Hi,

Normally with just disk 2 it will work. (You must be sure that all objects of desired Licensed Program are in disk 2!)

As for "verify", I wouldn't expect it to be able to verify. You're not running an upgrade nor PTF package. You're simply "loading" a CD/DVD and installing from it. The RSTLICPGM command will find the product or it won't. It will tell you if it succeeded.

IIRC, if it prompts for the 'next' CD, enter the reply that indicates there are no more. (That might be an 'X' -- it's not something I do often for single products.)

The worst that will likely happen is a message saying the product wasn't found. Be aware that you should probably apply your last cume PTF package again after a new product is installed.

Create an image area and load all CD’s/DVD’s into the image area (call it V5R4 or V6R1). Then when you are finished you can verify the image files.
