 installing forms and reports without any middleware

Hi, I need some help! we are moving to XP, and I have an Oracle Forms/Reports app that needs to go on it. They have decided to go with a packaged approach, and have already packaged standard m/w (8.1.7). when i try and install forms 6i without the Net8 m/w as i have been instructed to do, it sees it as a dependency and installs Net8 (8.0.6) anyway. Is there any way i can install forms and reports without m/w, and get it to connect using the 8.1.7 m/w that is already installed? I have been instructed by our xp team that i cannot use the old version of the middleware, so i HAVE to connect using 8.1.7 Any help would be gratefully welcomed. Cheers

If you install Developer (formas & reports) on the same ORACLE_HOME where the Net 8 Products (8.1.7) were installed, then the installer should not need to install it, because it already appears as an installed product.
