Installed Exchange 2003, but no option to create mailboxes. HELP!!!
Hi everyone, I have run into this issue with Exchange Server 2003 SP2 and I’m going nuts. Here is the situation; I have 2 servers that are Server 2003 SP2 domain controllers. I installed Exchange Server 2003 with SP2 on the backup domain controller and all went great. However, I went to AD user and computers to create mailboxes and the “Exchange Tasks “is not showing in the menu of the user. I even right click on the user and it is not there. So, I opened up the AD users and computers that comes with Exchange and still, no exchange features or tasks. I even created a new user and it doesn’t ask me to create a mailbox!! Yet, I can open Exchange System Manager and see the server and the default mailbox store. Any ideas!!?? I switched the “view “to advanced and still there is no option to create mailboxes. What’s going on?? Please help I have users screaming for mailboxes….. Ric

Answer Wiki:
You need to install the exchange management tools on your administrative machine or the domain controller. The domain controller that you've installed exchange on will have the new active directory users and computers where you have access to exchange tasks.
