I HAVE PURCHASED NEW COMPAQ PRESARIO MODEL CQ 40-616TU WHILE INSTALLING WINDOWS 2000 OR 2003 SERVER IN IT. IT IS SHOWING ONLY SETUP BLUE SCREEN ONLY. MY PRESESNT OS IN XP SP3. PLEASE GIVE SUGEESITIONS AND DIRECTIONS HOW TO INSTALL WINDOWS 2000 OR 2003 SERVER

I guess You are using SATA HDD in New Laptop, so u need to change HDD option setup. In laptop default setting for STAT HDD was “Enhanced Mode” This won’t support with Windows XP, 2000, 2003 OS so need to change bios setup. so Enter into Bios Setup. Check and Change the SATA HDD option “Enhanced ” to “Compatibility” mode. and try to boot through CD. It will surely work

i guess Mrdenny the only logical explanation why his doing it, may be a test environment for him thats why his eager to install on his laptop

I guess You are using SATA HDD,

so u need to change HDD setup.

Enter into Bios Setup

Change the SATA HDD option “Enhanced ” to “Compatibility” mode.

and try to boot through CD, it won’t give BSOD(Blue Screen Of Dead)

It will surely work

320GB HARD DISK

Pls check the specification in Compaq site.
