Not sure, what OS are you running? How did you shut it down last? Is there anymore info in the message?

Securityn00b is right, more detials would be helpful here. Sounds like your OS got corrupted at the very least and you might want to run diagnostics on your hard drive.

If you live outside the United States, by submitting your email address you consent to having your personal data transferred to and processed in the United States.
from my experience can be one of several things, you have left a floppy disk in the drive that is not bootable, you have a memory stick plugged in, there is something wrong with the MBR, the partition with Windows or what ever OS you are using is not active, the disk that the OS is installed on is not connected or faulty or there are no system files on the active partition.
In most cases I have found that it is due to a floppy disk or usb flash drive (memory stick) has been left in the computer.
Other than that it could be as simple as copying the system files across on to your PC
Worse case scenario is that you will need to re-install your OS

Did you make any changes in the BIOS setup recently ?
If so, check the boot options/order in the BIOS.
It could be malware-related….make sure you do a complete system scan using multiple virus scanners.
