Background of Machine: XP Home Edition 2000copyright
I was given this machine that had been sitting in a garage for 3-6 years. There was not a power cord or mouse or keyboard. The guy says it was a gift but he could not logon. So, he says because I am renting out a room from him, and going to school full time at ITT, maybe I could fix it. So I took the challenge. Current issues I am facing:
Infinite loop of XP Starting... then checking for issues with hard disk (auto) and then restarting over and over.
Next, the BIOS... How to get in... WTF! Soled after 3hrs...
F8-Set Del-? Then Tab-logo...
= F8-GO Del-GO Tab-......"Enters Advanced SetupCMOSBIOS....etc" A lot of config options
So, I start changing, used over 340 different configs so far. No luck. Either gets stuck on a part and freezes or continues loop.
Removing the CMOS Batt over night, Install new OS, Checked All of Layer1 (OSI Model)
Any Suggestions?

Many ideas. Can you boot from CD and view OS boot logs? — Tom
