Inability to use Trend Micro online scan.

I am wondering what settings I have to change to enable the scan to work. I am having this trouble on a stand alone (no domain), desktop with XP service pack 2 and all updates. On this machine, I have internet security seting in IE set to high, and then I add sites to my trusted zone when I need too. This alone soesn't seem to be enough to allow the online scan? Thanks in advace, N_T_H n_t_h@hotmail.com

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Trend Micro requires an activeX install. Do you get a message regarding the install?

Also, there are known scumware programs that will protect themselves by disabling virus scans. Here is a list of other on line scans you can try.

Provid us with more information to what exactly is happening and we can provide addition resources.

Best of luck

If you are using their corporate product, it may need to be configured via your corporate server, in which case you need to discuss with your IT staff. You can get more info from http://kb.trendmicro.com/solutions/search/default.asp I hope this helps. Good luck, Craig Herberg

Hi, As mentioned by dwiebesick, TrendMicro's online scanner requires an ActiveX to be installed. The HIGH security settings in IE is preventing the ActiveX to be installed. Are you getting the prompt to install TrendMicro's ActiveX?
