I realy do think all of you are absolutely WRONG.
That is if you are not job hunting in the US.
IT in the US has been shipped overseas for years.
Coding jobs in the US are VERY difficult to find - an if you do look out for lay offs.
I've been in IT for years designing and developing apps and was laid off in 2001.
Now I'm in TAC in a non IT associated department.

I have a friend that had graduated as a BSCS - a Computer Science Engineer in 2001 when things got really bad. Him and his co-students have not located jobs YET.

If you want a job you'd better go someplace other than the US where they pay 50 cents an hour or you are screwed.

I'd like some guideance as to tell my friend how to land a coding job in the US - PLEASE.
Thanks
twhmark

I agree. I've been in field 30 years in the US. I'm sticking to areas that require on-site hands-on presence, like sys admin, project management, systems installation and integration. Most, if not all, of the greedy corporatons in the US will outsource coding or anything else they can to save a penny.
