In MS Outlook, any way to import multipe users to a distribution list on the GAL without manually selecting them?
I want to add approximately 500 users to a distribution list on our Global Address List. I know that I can scroll through and select a user one-by -one or select multiple users by holding down the control key, but we have over 5000 users in the GAlL, so this is very time consuming and prone to errors.
Is there any way to import the 500 users into the distribution list on the Global Address List without manually selecting them through the Modify Members / Add buttons?

I'm assuming that you are adding the 500 names from one outlook address book to the larger 5000 name list. If not leave a message in the discussion section below, and someone else, or me will try to get you a more accurate answer. My problem is a little differnt.
I am a database admin and I have 500 users in my company that use my database, so I need a distibution list to send updates. I used my company’s e-mail address book that contains approx 5000 -10,000 e-mail ID’s and I created 4 personal distribution lists with approx 125 members in each list, because that was my limit . I then saved these as personal distribution lists in my Contcats on my offline address book.
I then requested for my Outlook admin to create a GAL distribution list on my company’s network. He created the distribution list on the GAL, but told me they could not copy in my personal lists that I created and that I would have to go and select my 500 users one by one manually through the Modify Members / Add buttons?
The problem is that we have betwen 5000 – 10,000 e-mails in this list, so it will take me an extremly long time to sort through this list and select the users.
When I created the 4 personal distribution lists it allowed me to copy and paste the e-mail ID’s from a text file. But when I try to do the same thing on the GAL distribution list, the paste function does not work. I don’t understand why it will allow me to copy/paste to a personal distribution list, but not allow me to copy/paste e-mail ID’s on a GAL distributuon list.
Is there any way I can import the 4 personal lists that I already created? Or copy and past the e-mail ID’s from a text file to the GAL distribution list?
I really appreciate any help you can provide.
Also, just to clarify, all of the 500 ID’s already exist in my company’s GAL. I am just trying to get the ID’s in a disto list on the GAL without having to manually select them all.
