Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Is this a one time move or a specific application that you need to use frequently?
This is always a challenge because users tend to put junk into the excel sheet
Like a column for quantity with an entry of NONE.

Hi, Normally you would use the CPYFRMIMPF command. Regards, Martin Gilbert.

If you have client access installed, there is an add-on available to help integrate excel to iseries. As questioned earlier, is this for a one-time use? I ask this because this add-on would not implement very well into a production environment, but I have found it very useful for setting up test data or a one-time initialization of production data: Here are the directions for this: 1. Open Excel 2. Choose the menu option Tools/Add-ins… 3. In the “Add-Ins” window look for the option “Client Access Data Transfer”. If it not there, press the browse button. 4. Navigate in the browse window to “C:Program FilesIBMClient AccessShared” and select “cwbtfxla.xll”. 5. Press “OK” 6. You should now have two new icons on your tool bar of Excel and two new menu options on the Data Menu.

Yes, but you won't like it. The excel file will have the entire rows in cells in column 'A' From a file with appropriate fields to excel would be better. Phil
