You want to implement threads in what kind of job -- batch or interactive? In what language -- RPG, COBOL, C, Java, CL or...? Will the programming ever be executed in a server job, e.g., a trigger program or external stored proc executing via ODBC? Will this be pure i5/OS processing or Qshell or PASE or...? What knids of activities be involved -- calculations, database, communications, interactions with objects outside of the program (user spaces, streamfiles, etc.)? What OS version is this? How many processors does the system have available? Provide some environmental description, please. It's difficult to give any answer when the question is wide open. Threads are pretty much the same under i5/OS as anywhere else, but there are always specifics to attend to. Tom
