 Images and media files not opening
Image and media files
I am amused by a fact that my image files and media files(.wma) are not opening if I double click them today. Please note that I have not changed any settings. I checked the mouse settings also. And one thing is clear, it is not due to mouse because other files like Excel, Word are opening when I double click them. Also for opening my image and media files, I need to right click and select open with option. If you have any solution, please let me know......

Do you get some error message when you try to open them by double-clicking ? What happens if you click on the file once to select it, and then press the enter key ?. Does it open ? Have you restarted the machine to see if it helps ? I know you have not changed any settings, but, did you install some new software recently ? Try this: Right-click on any image file, choose "Open with"->"Choose program", and select the program you use to see image files from the list, then check the "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file", and click "Ok". Close the image file, and try to open it by double-clicking on it. ----------------------------------

Thanx for your answer. But it worked when I restarted the system. I am still amused, how this happened? I did not install any software recently. And I did not configure any things. It happened itself. Rebooting the system resolved the problem but I still don’t know how this problem came.

If you can tell me how this problem may occur and how it can be resolved, please send me your feedback.

Hey if we knew WHY all errors and weirdness occured with MS products, we’d probably be making a lot more money and not have time to visit a site like this! I wondered if a simple reboot would resolve it for you. Sounds like a process was hanging somewhere.
