Hi, I just want to ask if it is possible to delete the PF (Physical File) inside my performance data library without causing any problem on my AS400 system. I found out that its file is so big.

STOP! WAIT! DON’T!

Performance data is kept in a normalized file system with mulitple members. If you delete those physical files you will probably have to remove then reinstall the performance tools LPP and associated PTFs if you ever need to evaluate performance for capacity planning or the performance of a particular job or program. Instead, go into Configure and Manage Tools menu and select to Delete Performance data then select all of the members. Then, if you ever need to collect performance data the files will be there.

To select the members Dan mentions:

Type Go Perform
Select option 6. Configure and manage tools
Select option 2. Delete performance data

You may be running Collection Services too.
From iSeries Nav click on Manaegement Central > Endpoint Systems > iSeries name or IP >
Config Services > Collection Services.
It will display each collection name and the size in mb as well. You can safely delete these by right clicking and choosing delete. The object type is *MGTCOL.
