I have a DB2 connection string to our i-Series that works. "DataSource=10.10.10.10;userid=LIVEXML;password=LIVE1;DefaultCollection=DATALIB031;"
We have been developing a lot of apps and web services that use this type of connection. My problem is when our i-Series software is upgraded (about every 12 months) there is a new data library. This means going back and changing all the apps and web services and re-publishing them.
Is there a way to have the connection string use the library list defined in the user profile instead of specifying a library? The profile is changed by the upgrade process and would eliminate all our code changes on the VB side if we can use the LIBL.
I tried setting DefaultCollection to QGPL hoping it would move to the LIBL in the profile if the file was not found in QGPL but no luck.
Software/Hardware used: SQL Server 2008, i-Series, VB.net
