We are a small shop (70 users) and are looking for an IM product to send messages within our company. We are an IBM shop with an iSeries and everything else Microsoft. (Exchange, Active Directory) I just found out about IBM's Sametime product. We have downloaded MessagePal, which runs on each workstation. It kind-of does the job for $9.99 per user, but we want to research any other possiblities. Can anyone tell me a little about Sametime and if it would be an appropriate selection for our enviornment?

We are a Louts Notes shop and use same time only in IT. Talking to the Notes group sametime licenses are fairly expensive(apprx. $100) and for us wouldn’t be cost effective. We are currently testing using the more popular IM’s in our environment (Yahoo,MSN etc.) I am using sametime and it works pretty well just like other IM clients and includes voice and video, but I don’t think the cost of the licenses will let us justify rolling it out to all users.
