IBM DS4300 SAN Storage Acceptance document

SAN, x366, DS4300, Windows Server 2003, Fibre channel

Hello there,

I was wondering if somebody could provide me with some guidance in preparing an acceptance document for the installation of a Fiber Channel SAN storage based on an IBM DS4300.
This will help me ensure that the installation is fully implemented and all the features are enabled and available as per the vendor specification.

The configuration consists of a DS4300 with two FC Controllers, two switches and a tape librarly. This setup is connected to a cluster of two IBM x366 servers running Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft Exchange.

If you can help or provide me with a website or any resource that could facilitate this task to me, I will highly appreciate it.

Thanking you in advance and regards
Ali Kouider

Start with the documentation on the DS4300. Here is the url; http://www-03.ibm.com/servers/storage/support/disk/ds4300/installing.html

Make sure you get the documentation on Storage Manager also.

Here is a best practices redbook on the DS4300 (FastT600) that can give you some ideas: http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redbooks/pdfs/sg246363.pdf

If a business partner is doing the install, they may have a standard acceptance document or they have specified what they will do in a statement of work. Those are good places to look.
