IBM DS400

Hi,

We have IBM ds400 storage device Which as configured RAID 5 with fc cable for windows 2003 server .Problem is if we restart the server we are not able to see assigned partion in server,once again if we restart then it is visible.I have updated all firmware,bios and patchs but also same issue.IT also confirmed no issue with hardware or cable.Please update if any solution is there.

It sounds like your disk manager service is timing out when you restart before it has time to access the drives. have you checked the event log. you might want to try to restart the computer till it down't see the partition and then restart the logical disk manager service and see if that is the culprit .. if so you can use a batch file during startup to stop and restart the service once the server is up and running when you have to reboot it to solve the problem. If it's something else in the event log i would need that information to diagnose it.
