i5-2300 and GTX 1060 6GB - Can I partner these two parts for me to use lumion for 3d modeling smoothly than the GTX 1050 ti? Because I'm worried about the bottlenecking that I saw on some YouTube videos.

I use 3D modeling (Blender) on a i5 laptop with 8g ram and a 4g dedicated video card with not much of a problem. There are other computers and software that would be better but out of my price range. You can get some 3D software under a student license like 3DS. You may want tot look into it.

How much RAM and video RAM is there? A lot will depend on the detail of the modeling. If there is a lot of vertices, faces and textures / materials it may be slow. What OS are you running, some handle memory more efficiently and may improve performance.

The job that you mentioned, it is better to use Mac OS/Macbook Pro/Macbook air. For your job purpose, probably you are going to use Maya/3Ds Max. However more details are required.

Currently I'm using 8GB of RAM and planning to upgrade to 16GB. I'm using Windows 10.
