Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

There is no need to modify the registry.

In Outlook, go to “Tools”->”Options”->”Other”, then click on AutoArchive and clear the “Run AutoArchive every n days” check box.

There is a need if you under an Enterprise Policy and “corportate” refuses to use a GPO to address.

I use a script that modifies the registry.

I want to modify so that when I image machines it is off.. I am trying to stream line my image process and reduce the tweaking time once user receives PC or laptop.

You can acheive this through a GPO as well, then you don't have to worry about machines that have not been imaged but you still want this turned off for them too. Less administrative concers as well since you will not have to verify if a machine has it turned off, they will all be affected by the GPO.

    Hi,

By default Turn off Outlook AutoArchive at installation but leave it available for user configuration:
When creating your Office or Outlook transform (.msp for 2007 / 2010) goto section:

    Features | Modify user settings
Micorosft Outlook |Outlook Options | Other | Advanced
Select AutoArchive Settings – set to DISABLED

Save the .msp and use it to install Outlook (or Office with Outlook).
