I want to do an MSc thesis. I have decided to use RSA or ECC for implementing a secure end to end communication to enhance the security in e-Commerce. I met with my lecturer and he said its good but that area is secure already because of the SSL/TLS AND SET protocols. he said I have to find a way to implement security properly. I am kind of confused. I might just look into something else instead of e-Commerce. I need some advise. Thanks!

Now you want to write your thesis. So did you think something about this? And this is not a few lines of answer. Also this is not an advice rather this is a hint. Other than SSL/TLS or SET protocols, you can think over other uses of encryption method, such as access controls/watermarks. Or instead of e-commerce, you can think about Gate security Or biometric related encryption. Here is an article, please link here: http://cyber.harvard.edu/ecommerce/encrypt.html

I'd look into other security methods like biometric or two factor authentication. These are still young in the big scheme of thing and probably the next place hackers will be looking to exploit. Just look at the new I-Phone that uses facial recognition to unlock it.
