Welcome to ITKE. We have no way to analyze your hardware through an on-line forum. If you have a specific reason to suspect problems with a hard drive and need to know if problems exist, you should take it to a qualified repair shop and request basic tests. -- Tom

Yes I know you are right but I need help on several devises plus the WiFi networking ect. I really wish I could find a tech that could some how work with me live on line one thing at a time. My granddaughter starts school in a couple weeks and she needs a working computer and printer for school. I have the right equipment to help her I just have everything a mess. NOTHING FUNCTIONING PROPERLY!! I did not expect to have my 10 year old granddaughter come to live with me. It was a court order and the best for everyone. BIG PROBLEM IS I DONT HAVE THE MONEY TO GET THIS COMPUTER/ PRINTER PRIBLEM FIXED FOR HER ON MY SMALL DISABILITY INCOME. Her dad, my son has gone to heaven so is not here to help & MYSTERIOUSLY my granddaughters SOCIAL SECURITYchecks have mysteriously disappeared since she  came to live with me. Just got her a laptop on sale at Walmart for school but scared to hook it up with these problem computers & printers. Know any yechs that may be able to help online? I'll be a pain in their but cause I'm such a  computer dummie but maybe a monthly fee? (Gotta get school clothes) if anyone has advise that can help me email me at Kay_uran@yahoo.com. SORRY REALLY I DID GET HETE BY ACCIDENT. I FEEL HORRIBLE DONT EVET THINK IVE BEGGED FOR ANYTHING BEFORE. I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR MY GRANDDAUGHTER THO SO IF IT SEEMS I AM BEGGING I GUESS I AM. SHE DESERVES MUCH MORE THAN WHAT SHE HAS HAD TO DEAL WITH. Sorry sorry sorry. Email me if you have advise for me.

You can find help on-line. It just depends on how much you're willing to pay. What's your budget?

A lot of those problems are probably cookies. If you have access to a clean PC you can try downloading a good antivirus program like Malwarbyes, Spybot Search and Destroy, both are free, and install it on the "infected" computer. I would recommend booting it up in safe mode, install the anti-virus program then run the program and see what it finds. Report back if you still have issues or get an error message. That may help us diagnose the problem better.

BTW, any "IT person" who claims that your PC has "47000 problems" is highly questionable. With so many problems, it's unlikely that analysis software could be reliable. It could possibly be necessary to boot from CD/DVD/USB or to remove the hard drive and attach it to a different system just to review the content.

I suppose "47000 problems" is possible, though. If such systems are found, owners should consider not connecting to the internet until receiving training. Those are systems likely to host zombie processes and other malware that cause the worst problems for everyone else.

OT: Why does this question thread have (apparently non-functional) -Next- and -View All Replies- buttons at the end and no other threads I've seen have them? Or am I the only one who sees them?
