Before you bother repairing OST files using third party solution, please read the following:

Take a look at versions of Microsoft Outlook you are using. So here are two fixes that will depend on your situation.

  1. OST Integrity Checker Tool is used in earlier versions of Outlook(2007,2003,2002) to repair OST file.
  2. Inbox Repair Tool is used in  Outlook 2010 and other newer versions of Outlook to repair internal data structure of OST file.

Technical detail is available here; http://www.ostpstsoftware.com/blogs/what-is-inbox-repair-tool.html

If you not that lucky as was the case with me, you will have to recreate OST file!

Hi, I would like to know the type of your Outlook email setup. Is it POP3, IMAP or AutoDiscover? Are you using OWA?

First check the properties of your distribution list. File>"Include these recipient types" then select "All types".  Re try sending invitation.
If doesn’t help, Try out the following fixes for the error:
    1. Try repairing your Outlook installation.
    2. Re create your Outlook profile and then set up the email account again, create a group (Distribution list) for these contacts, check if the problem still persists.
    3. Set up the email account on other computer and then check, does the error occur?
    4. Verify your auto discover service http://technet.microsoft.com/en-au/library/aa995956.aspx. You may also require deleting the old Autodiscover Virtual Directory and then create a new one.
    5. Run the powershell command:
     Set-DistributionGroup "<DistributionGroupName>" - ReportToManagerEnabled $true
    6. Try out the Microsoft Office 2010 available at :  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2266424

Let me know if it helps.

    Hi,
Have you tried the Inbox repair tool (ScanPST.exe) & OST Integrity Check tool to fix the OST file related issues?

These are free repair tools. To know more about the utilities, have a look at: http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/outlook-help/repair-outlook-data-files-pst-and-ost-HA010075831.aspx.

Hopefully it would resolve your problem.

If it fails to recover your corrupt OST file then, you need to get some powerful OST recovery software. You can find many OST repair software available online along with DEMO version. You can try the free DEMO version, if it seems to be helpful. Then, you can go ahead for full version purchase.
