Using Norton Ghost 12.0 on XP i was getting ready to do a clean XP install so I moved all my essential files to the backup drive. then decided to copy the C drive to the same backup drive just to be safe. After the copy my backup drive disappeared along with the restore points I had saved there. This is a disaster of proportions I cannot begin to describe. Under advanced tools I can see the old drive named along with the status of Attention Needed. Is there any way I can recovers this.

Software/Hardware used:
XP on basic Dell desktop.

Have you considered contacting Norton? I can only hope that if they can follow your procedure they would be able to identify the fault. Maybe this link would help: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/powerquest.nsf/0/3e9b29e4c15a2f89652572b900738111?OpenDocument&seg=hm&lg=en&ct=us Respond back with what you did. Good luck.
