When I try to start my virtual machine, I get an error message saying that the hypervisor is not running. I'm able to open Hyper-V Manager fine, and have not had a problem running a VM on this physical machine before. Has anyone run into this issue?

Software/Hardware used:
windows server 2008 r2, Hyper-V

Never had this problem, so a shot in the dark would be to check the Hyper-V Services. Is the Hyper-v virtual machine management service running?

This is a good one, it happens often if you restore from a backup, or mess with the BCD Store, what you might need to do is go to command prompt and type bcdedit to see the bcd store, then you need to copy the GUID of the boot drive, then type the command bcdedit /set {GUID} hypervisorlaunchtype auto.
Hopefully this will fix it, as it has helped me many times with "The hypervisor is not running" issue
