Hyper-V management in Vista MMC tool

I dont have an AD domain in my environment. If i manage hyper-v using the vista mmc tool does my vista laptop or hyper-v server need to be in a domain? This question is from the Microsoft Virtualization Chat on ITKnowledgeExchange.com

They do not but you may need to configure the HV Server for remote management and permissioning. John Howard created a tool called HVREMOTE that may be useful.
