Is it possible to install Hyper-V Server 2008 (The free bit, not hyper-v built into Windows Server 2008), create a VM (obviously remotely in the first instance), then run that VM on the same piece of hardware as a kind of default OS, using the keyboard, mouse etc of the server machine?

Software/Hardware used:
Hyper-V 2008

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

No, you can’t interact from the hardware into a VM. There’s no user interface that would be presented on the console.
