HP2015 printer configuration

We have a HP2015 lan attached printer. It has worked fine attached to the iSeries printing PC & iSeries output. Until we tried to print a 'form' on it that is produced by an iSeries application. The charaters type over each other and the spacing is all messed up. We have a Dell LAN attached printer that prints this form fine. How can I configure this printer to work with all forms? I've looked online at the IBM ascii printer site and it says this printer should work as an iSeries printer.

I think the answer to this one is simple but may take a bit of work in the testing mode so hang on.

The HP2015 s a supported printer in that all HP printer support the HP4 and HP5 print drivers. So all you have to do is change the :

MFRTYPMDL field to either *HP4 or *HP5si and it should work.

Manufacturer type and model (MFRTYPMDL)

Specifies the manufacturer, type, and model for a printer using the host print transform function.

I am curious to know if the above answer worked. I have a similar issue and found that the HP2015 does not come with Times New Roman Fonts installed, whereby $50 buys a Font Card withTimes New Roman.

David, I am using the *HP5S1 manufactures type in my DEVD. (I will try the *HP4 but I don't think that this will help as I have tried other settings for this parameter?) When I say forms, what I mean is a form with 'lines' and 'boxes' and text. Any other ideas? Thanks for your help, Greg

We've had issues with the HP2015 as well. We've discovered the hard way, that the printer does not have PCL fonts. HP will refer you to Typehaus for the font DIMMS. We ordered a non-Typehaus DIMM and it did not work. Ordered from Typehaus and presto. Of course, it cost twice as much.
