Hi Abrcore,

Both Cisco and Procurve offer wide lines of switches, so asking for specifics on the level of port numbers and PoE is like asking how many MGP a Chevy will get you: The answer is “It depends which model”

However, there’s been a good deal of discussion about the suitability of both for office environments:

Blogger and networking guru Jason Abrahamson said Procurve had some compromises against Cisco, but they were well worth the greatly reduced price tag.

ITKnowledgeExchange’s own Yasirirfan suggests Cisco is the way to go if you have a large business.

And Shamus McGillicuddy reported that Cisco might be willing to negotiate when it comes to switch pricing.

Hope that’s helpful.

That was a pretty good answer. If you've got some more specifics - you might also try asking in the HP Networking LinkedIn group. There are lots of HP employees, customers, and resellers in that group.
