 HP Printer Problem on windows print server
AS/400 printing, HP Printer Problem, Windows Print Servers
Hi,

There is a HP Printer hosted on Windows Print Server.This printer prints junk charachters in PDF file intermittently .The printer name is EXPN005.A printer with same name exsts on AS400. Is there any thing at all which needs to be checked on AS400 side for the junk charachter printing ? Please advice

First I would troubleshoot the issue outside of your AS400 environment to see if you have any PDF printing issues. If no issues then I would then start at the command line at the AS400 server (not application) and launch the print command to the printer. If you see an issue, you can try maybe using a universal driver on the printer server as well as a universal driver on the AS400 platform.

How do I see which driver is installed on AS400.Do I need to match this with the one installed on Windows.Should they be exactly the same. ?
