Hp Printer randomly prints some pages in red.  All document is formatted in black text.  Have replaced ink cartridge and all printer tests are successful.

Have set document to print in black only.  Have looked in all device options to find someplace that is wrong but cannot find anything.

Have reinstalled printer driver to make sure it is updated.

Software/Hardware used:
Document created in Word 2003 then copy and pasted into Word 2007, particular format (1/2 size page). Using new Sony Vaio with Windows 7 system. Printer is HP PHotosmart C4480

I guess the question is: "How to stop the printer from printing pages in red ?"

what im thinking is that since it is your trying to print all text in black, im suspecting that there's a problem in your printer itself (mechanically/electronically), and you said you've updated the device driver of the printer..bec when you try to print in black&white only, the printer still tries to mix the colors (red, blue, and etc) to produce a black text output but it's printing a cyan/magenta combination resulting into a reddish text prints, unless your using black cartridges only on your printer that would be a different story, my suggestion send it to the HP tech to let them check what's causing this problem if you still have the warranty of the said printer.
