I have an hp officejet 4110 all-in-one printer/fax/scanner/copier; I also have an Epson perfection 1250 (flat bed) scanner. I have them both hooked to my PC and both are scanning fine. The officejet however, is not faxing AND when I'm on-line it says "phone off hook". My PC is HP Pavilion 7965 Pentium 4, Intel inside. Could you please tell me if maybe I have the phone lines in the wrong places or if you know of a setting I can't seem to find to fix the faxing problem; also if there is way to send a fax while online using the same phone number I use to get online. (I have only phone number to the whole house). Here is how I have the lines connected: From the wall jack I have that line running to a power surger protector, plugged into the (in option). Then a phone line running from the surge protector from the (out option), that line is hooked up to the outlet on the back of the PC by the phone symbol, then I have a phone line running from the next phone jack on back of my PC (symbol of a phone jack) running to the back of the hp office jet al l in one, (by the symbol of a PC and a phone); then I have a line running from the back of the office jet (symbol wall outlet) running to telephone. That we don't use. LOL I was wondering if I need to change some defaults are something. You see we had an all-one before and while still new messed up and we got this one. It worked fine. We never hardly use the fax, but I'm job hunting and need to send and receive faxes now. So I don't know if the phone number change caused a problem or if the all in one is broke. Thanks so much for your help. It is so good to know you can come to a place and get help. Thanks again. Bonnie
