this printer is a problem and you should have checked the IBM site before purchasing. Note the following:
The terms “Host-based HP PCL4” and “Host-based HP PCL5e” indicate that the printer accepts an HP PCL4 or PCL5e printer data stream, but may require that the print data come through a host-based printer driver, such as a printer driver for one of the Windows, Linux? or MacIntosh operating systems.
Note: Unpredictable results have been received when using LPR, PJL, SNMP with Host Print Transform (HPT) or when using either HPT or a Printer Definition Table (PDT) file with a PC5250 printer session when printing to printers that use Host-based HP PCL4 or PCL5e. If one of these configurations does not work with a printer that uses host-based HP PCL4 or PCL5e, then it is recommended to use a PC5250 printer session that has been configured to use the Windows printer driver without HPT or a PDT file.
