    Hi, I recently upgraded my EVA4000 to a EVA6000, just added 2 fcal switches and 4 extra shelves and I was ready to go, no hastles and no loss of data on EVA4000 volumes. Regards Thomas

    The EVA3000 and EVA6000 are different generation controllers, one running VCS and the other running XCS series code/firmware as a result there will need to be some transition. If you can schedule an outage then you can do your migrations the traditional way. Full online storage migration can be done between the platforms using a combination of array based mirroring (using HP's Continuous Access) and/or host based mirroring/replication depending on OS and applicaiton.
