HP Administrator’s Files

I want to copy all my MSWord documents to a CD. The computer insists that they are not my documents, but instead belong to HP Administrator, and tells me to contact my administrator. This is my computer, I am the administrator. How do I back up my files before my computer dies?

What version of Windows? Does your account have administrative rights? Make sure your account does have administrative rights. If not log in as local admin and change the rights of your account. You can also go into the properties of your folder in which the docs are saved and take ownership of the folder. One would THINK you would already be the owner, but I would have to sit down and look at permissions on your PC myself to know.
