The power cord adapter light comes on. When I push the power button the light comes on and I can hear the fan running and the caps lock blinks, but then my computer shuts off. Why won't my HP 635 laptop boot up?

Software/Hardware used:
Windows 7

if it is under warranty, then get HP to help, if it is not and if you dare, try to open and see if the heat sink and fans is dirty. try cleaning it and try to boot it up again

Okay, I know this is really late to help this person since it has been over a year since this was posted, but hopefully It can help anyone else having this issue with their HP635 notebook. More then likely this problem is caused by the motherboard cracking from changes in temperature. I had this issue, so try this take a blow dryer and have it blow hot air into the fan vents for 30 to 40 seconds..be sure not to go over board, this should help the motherboard make the loose connections. turn hair dryer off press the power button and voila!... it should start up on first attempt.
